This busy family of boys were ready for an update in their cottage style home that would be both aesthetically pleasing and help make their home run efficiently. We helped them choose paint colors throughout the main living space, kitchen, and upstairs guest room turned reading room.

The family room and kitchen were all painted in Benjamin Moore Collingwood. The entry wall into the family room features a beautiful live edge walnut console table that was crafted by the homeowner. We styled it with an arched mirror, stone vase, basket, and wood bowl to catch those extra little items as you run in and out the door.

The homeowner was ready for a few new pieces of furniture in the living room. We helped them source a new gray toned sofa, a leather armchair in a caramel tone, and a leather stationary chair in a similar tone of leather. The living room areas smaller space called for slimline pieces to allow for a clear walking path, but these furniture selections also allowed for a nice amount of seating and conversation layout. A new brass floor lamp finished the reading space in the living room. We styled the mantle with a current family photo, black iron candlesticks, books, and greenery. The existing media bookcase which stocks the children’s books was organized and styled with old and new treasures. Then to finish the space we added a side table, lamp, ottoman, and plant stand.

The kitchen was updated with new pendant lighting over the island. We love a glass pendant when you want to add drama but not obscure your point of view. The desk area was given some organization with a tiered wicker basket and new prints to add color and character.

The upstairs guest room turned reading room was given a shiplap wall accent and the room painted in Benjamin Moore White Dove. A new sleeper sofa was added to this room along with a marble topped side table, lamp and throw pillows. We added a wicker basket and moss to the plant they already had in the room. This space was finished with a few muted botanical prints for the walls.
