Family Home Renovation
This wonderful family added on a great addition to their home on Timberlane Drive. With a love for entertaining & hosting, extending a family room area onto the kitchen was a much needed update. The clients also updated and styled several other rooms on the main level. When we were introduced to the project they had already chosen a nice selection of furniture and lighting pieces. We just helped pull it all together with a few details.
The wood and iron coffee table that we sourced for the new family room is a perfect size and shape to pull the conversation area together. We used potted olive trees to add some height and natural texture to the space. The entertainment wall is styled with a few new accessories and also some of the clients’ loved items.
We wanted to make a statement on the beautiful wood farm table in the kitchen and the large white ceramic pottery definitely added that boldness factor. The reclaimed shelving over the drink station was exactly what we were looking for to tie in with the dining table and it also provides some great functional space.
Our clients have a love for travel and other countries so, when deciding what to feature on the large open wall, framed map prints were the perfect pick. There are four prints, each featuring different parts of the world. You can imagine the conversations this area will spark with their guests.
This home has a great hallway area between the utility room and kitchen. It serves as a place to grab things on the way out the door. We styled this area with an existing dresser the homeowner had been using in a different room. The painting was purchased on a trip to Italy by the couple and we found the perfect spot for it here so they can enjoy it every day. Having useful furniture pieces in key areas in your home brings both beauty and functionality.
The master bedroom also received some restyling. We chose a navy quilt for the bed ensemble and topped it with a soft cream and navy herringbone duvet cover. The blue gray lamps have a traditional feel and pull the room together.
The utility room had plenty of space to incorporate this lovely chair the clients owned. We reupholstered the seat with a taupe buffalo print fabric. Adding the black botanical prints with sconces gave the room a fun light feature. We are not electricians so these lights feature a wireless remote control system.
We styled the formal living room with a large black mirror over the fireplace and brought in some brass features with the candlestick holders and the handle on the black lantern. We love adding lights to bring in some glow so the lantern is styled with books, a candle, and some fairy lights.
